We can change the life of those who have no hope

We move families from a cycle of poverty, through a range of leadership trainings, vocational trainings and provision or access to the loans they need to have a sustainable living. We acknowledge that there is not only economic poverty but spiritual poverty - which is why we have biblical trainings embedded in all our economic empowerment programs. We strive to see women rise up to take up their God-given roles and responsibilities to help others rise up for Christ as well.

Impact stories

Meet Aidah Buteme. “Life was not easy,” says Aidah, 24. “I was forced to work in farms to raise an income and take care of my 3 children.” “After being trained on how to sew and start a business, I used my skills to sew cloths that I would sell. Atleast now I am able to buy a little soap, body jelly for my children instead of depending on my parents for everything,” Aidah explains. “I am so grateful for the skills that I have been given. In order to have a sustainable steady income, I need to have a sewing machine of my own. Currently I borrow our trainers' machine to sew my cloths and many tailors require a fee for one to use it. I know that a loan from Refresh Endeavour is something that will help me realise my dream. With a little help from Refresh Endeavour, Aidah has increased her income, moving from UGX 2000 (US $0.55) to UGX 20,000 (US $5.53) a month. Things started to improve after she joined Refresh Endeavour Uganda, a Non-profit that gave her vocational skills trainings and taught her entrepreneurship and saving skills.

Word From The Founder

Ms. Sharon Amali

The vision for this work was born in 2019 after thousands of women attended a women's Conference where I saw the hunger they have for more of the Word of God, and the desperation to get out of the life they were living.

I realized that they need more than spiritual help if they are to impact their communities in a more profound way for Christ. These women - ambassadors for Christ in their communities – would need to move around their communities during their training and evangelism efforts. The glaring truth was that they were too financially restrained to travel easily, not to talk of being able to help any other needy person they may come across in their community. Instead of being “begging ministers”, they would need to have something of their own to help the poor as well for the effectiveness of the Gospel. That is the mission of Refresh Endeavour – “Moving women from spiritual and physical poverty to self-reliance, and transform their communities for Christ”.
